Tuesdays nights from spring to fall, head to Casino Beach for music, drinks and people-watching.
Bands on the Beach, a free summer concert series presented by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, runs the first Tuesday in April through the last Tuesday in October.
It’s a favorite among locals and visitors to our beach, because of its laid-back vibe and gorgeous scenery.
Just grab a lawn chair and a cooler – but be sure to stock it with cans instead of bottles. There’s no glass on the beach, and generally no consumption of alcohol in sandy public areas. (They make an exception for this fun weekly event.)
If you don’t feel like hauling a bunch of stuff down the beach, you can order drinks from beachside bars like the Dock, or eat dinner at a favorite restaurant like Sidelines, Crabs, Flounders or Red Fish Blue Fish before walking over.
Acts are regional and run the gamut from funk to bluegrass, country to tribute bands. An annual lineup can be found here.
The event is very family friendly, but you’ll also find a lot of couples who come to shake their thing on the dance floor. You’ll see people young and old, in every manner of dress from swimsuits to sundresses.
It’s all good at Bands on the Beach, which is really just a celebration of music in the beautiful place we’re happy you chose to stay.
Bands on the Beach is located at the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays from April to October. Look for the parking lot with the giant beach ball water tower.
